World of Concrete 2009

After a successful 2008 show, World of Concrete 2009 gears up for one more record-breaking show. Year 2009 is also important for World of Concrete as it would celebrate its 35thanniversary this time.

Started with 77 exhibitors over 22,200 net sq ft of floor space in Houston, Texas, US, the show has now developed into one of the biggest global exhibitions for the construction industry and now will see over 1700 exhibitors covering nearly 825,000 sq ft of exhibit space in 2009. In addition to the show, World of Concrete 2009 will offer both 90-minute and 3-hour seminar sessions to suit everybody’s schedule! Seminars will cover everything from concrete repair, through safety and risk management to green building.

With energy consumption and conservation a concern around the globe, combined with a booming interest in the green construction market, concrete is more relevant and important than ever to the commercial and residential construction markets. World of Concrete 2009 will showcase exhibits, educational sessions and forums to address this and many other issues by providing relevant solutions, products, and technologies.

Recognized by Tradeshow Week as one of the Fastest 50 Tradeshows in both 2007 and 2008, WOC 2009 will once again feature special product and action areas including the Producer Center, a dedicated marketplace of materials, equipment, demos, and seminars for concrete producers; Material Handling, offering trucks, excavators and more for material delivery, distribution, concrete placement, and earthmoving; Concrete Repair and Demolition, featuring surface preparation products & equipment, scarifying, grinding, sawing equipment, and other demolition products; World of Masonry, showcasing a full range of products, tools, information, and technology for masonry professionals; and Technology for Construction, featuring the latest products and technologies for the commercial construction industry from top information technology and systems providers.

Returning in 2009 will be the Greensite exhibits and presentation area of the show floor located in the South Hall, Level 2. In this high-traffic area, exhibitors will showcase greenbuilt technologies and products along with interactive displays, video and live presentations, and valuable information on this popular and growing topic of concern in the commercial and residential construction industries.

The World of Concrete Education Program is lauded as a world-class feature at the show with targeted 3-hour sessions covering everything from Concrete Fundamentals to Decorative Concrete and Business & Project Management in addition to 90-minute topics including Leadership & Management, Technology for Construction, Green Building, Safety/ Risk Management, and many more. This year, look for sessions dealing with key topics relevant to sustaining and growing the concrete and masonry industries.

As the largest annual international show for the commercial concrete and masonry industries, world of concrete attracts loyal attendees who want to see innovation in the industry to grow their business. Power Curber

World of Concrete 2009
Power Curber has chosen this platform to demonstrate its 5700-C curb and gutter machine as well as its SF-2700 slipform paver.

5700-C compact size and versatility allow contractors to achieve high level of productivity. It gets in and out of tight spots quickly, making tight radius work in parking lots much quicker. In addition to curb and gutter work, the machine pours highway safety barrier, bridge parapet, sidewalk, golf cart paths, agricultural foundations, irrigation ditches and stadium risers. The 5700-C is equipped with a Smart Amp™ control system which offers the simplicity of an analog system, but with the features of a digital system.

SF-2700 Slipform paver is capable of paving width of 9.7 m in residential areas, highways, and at airports.

Putzmeister

World of Concrete 2009
Putzmeister, one of the leading global providers of concrete pumps, tunnel machines, industrial pumps, mortar machines and professional high-pressure cleaners will launch its new BSA 100-D and BSA 120 D high pressure trailer pumps at the show. Both the machines feature high capacity hoppers, hard-chromed delivery cylinders, a large water box, Putzmeister’s S valve and durable hydraulic cylinders.

Peri Formwork

World of Concrete 2009
German based Peri has chosen this show to introduce its new Maximo system for walls. By means of a newly developed conical tie system, the wall formwork system does not require any spacer tubes and work takes place from only one side. Another offer from Peri will be its Beamdeck for slabs. An aluminium beam slab formwork featuring drophead for early stripping of panels. The company will also demonstrates its Rail Climbing Scaffold (RCS) that uses a ‘climbing shoe’ tso ensure its scaffold.

SuperKrete

Superkrete products have been enhancing, protecting and restoring concrete installation worldwide will make debut of its product range and also launch its new S-121 Color-Bond Admix, an integrally colored, water based bonding agent that provides a colored, decorative finish when mixed with the company’s S-122 Color-Bond Cementitious Aggregate.

Somero

World of Concrete 2009

Mini Screed™ C is small and maneuverable with laser controlled accuracy—is now equipped for multiple applications such as chaired mesh, fluted metal deck, post tension and other commercial applications. This newest addition to the walk-behind Laser Screed® family consistently achieves laser accuracy on various slump and mix designs, demonstrating proven performance with all applications including radiant floor heating, un-reinforced elevated and slab-on-grade. The Mini Screed C uses Somero’s patented laser-leveling technology to cut the concrete to a finished grade, screed it flat and vibrate it smooth in one pass.

Terex

World of Concrete 2009
World of Concrete has also been chosen by Terex to show its AL4000 Light Tower. The tower is durable, cost effective solution for worksite lighting. 9.1m portable floodlight system has an automatic start/stop option to control a fleet of light towers automatically. It can be set in the timer mode, which turns the generator on and off at particular times, or the photocell mode, in which the system signals the tower to turn on or off based on the amount of natural light present. Each tower has four 1000-watt metal halide lamps that can illuminate up to 7.5 acres or provide isolated lighting for nighttime jobsite applications.

Genie, a subsidiary of Terex will also show the latest addition to its telescopic boom range. The S-60 and S-65 Trax models feature an innovative four point track system that enhances traction in difficult terrain. Genie stand will also feature upgraded version of its GTH-5519 and GTH-1056 rough terrain telehandlers.

B&G Equipment

World of Concrete 2009
B&G offers a full line of sprayers specially designed for the concrete industry. As world of concrete provides a perfect environment to showcase new and high technology products and solutions, B&G Equipment has also grab this opportunity and will unveil its new concrete sealer and form oil sprayer that applies both sealer and form oil at the same time. The system features a heavy density polyethylene tank, a heavy duty 457 mm brass extension and a wide funnel top for easy filling and pouring.
