
After a successful 2008 show, World of Concrete 2009 gears up for one more record-breaking show. Year 2009 is also important for World of Concrete as it would celebrate its 35thanniversary this time.
Started with 77 exhibitors over 22,200 net sq ft of floor space in Houston, Texas, US, the show has now developed into one of the biggest global exhibitions for the construction industry and now will see over 1700 exhibitors covering nearly 825,000 sq ft of exhibit space in 2009. In addition to the show, World of Concrete 2009 will offer both 90-minute and 3-hour seminar sessions to suit everybody’s schedule! Seminars will cover everything from concrete repair, through safety and risk management to green building.

German based Peri has chosen this show to introduce its new Maximo system for walls. By means of a newly developed conical tie system, the wall formwork system does not require any spacer tubes and work takes place from only one side. Another offer from Peri will be its Beamdeck for slabs. An aluminium beam slab formwork featuring drophead for early stripping of panels. The company will also demonstrates its Rail Climbing Scaffold (RCS) that uses a ‘climbing shoe’ tso ensure its scaffold.

The tower is durable, cost effective solution for worksite lighting. 9.1m portable floodlight system has an automatic start/stop option to control a fleet of light towers automatically. It can be set in the timer mode, which turns the generator on and off at particular times, or the photocell mode, in which the system signals the tower to turn on or off based on the amount of natural light present. Each tower has four 1000-watt metal halide lamps that can illuminate up to 7.5 acres or provide isolated lighting for nighttime jobsite applications.
Genie, a subsidiary of Terex will also show the latest addition to its telescopic boom range. The S-60 and S-65 Trax models feature an innovative four point track system that enhances traction in difficult terrain. Genie stand will also feature upgraded version of its GTH-5519 and GTH-1056 rough terrain telehandlers.
