The mega trade show, Excon’09 is dedicated to construction equipment and construction technology sector. The purpose of the event is to bring all the professionals and other players related on to a common platform. The expo presents an extensive range of construction products, services, technologies, and equipment. Moreover, the 5th edition of Construction Equipment and Construction Technology Trade Fair (Excon’09) is expected to be a wonderful opportunity to the participants to meet, interact and create new business contacts to boost the growth potential of the construction sector.
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has been playing a pioneering role in developing the Construction Equipment Industry in India through the biennial event Excon. In continuation to its series of successful past editions, Excon’09 is poised for immense growth with more international participations and expanded exhibiting space.
The Excon’09 has recorded an alarming increase in exhibiting space from a mere 20,000 sqm in the first show, in 2000 to over 1,40,000 sqm this year. Around 400 companies from world over will showcase their latest and existing offerings at the show. This year Excon will have pavilions from four countries including China, Italy, Germany, and the U.K besides many other manufacturing companies from across the globe.
To make the Excon’09-trip a wonderful experience for the participants, the organizers have changed the entire exhibition exercise and have introduced amazing helicopter landing facilities with arrangement of viewing the show both from air and ground which is first of its kind in India.
From this year onwards, free shuttle services from Airport, Railway Station, and few main city points to exhibition ground will be available for the visitors and exhibitors.
According to Mr. Vipin Sondhi, Chairman, Excon, the main focus of Excon’09 is to build modern India which can successfully be achieved by making available right kind of construction equipment and world best building technology. Excon is the right platform for new launches and the newest addition in technology. Seminars/discussion on the sidelines of the show will update understanding and awareness about the construction and associated industries to the attendees.
This year, we are expecting over 30,000 visitors and doing everything possible to make this trip a wonderful, memorable and long-lasting experience for every participant, added Mr. Sondhi.
The Show will witness equipment Demos, display and launch of several new products and services. Some highlights are summarized here.
Liebherr will display truck mixer, tower crane and wheel loader at Excon this year. Model HTM 604 truck mixer is mounted at Ashok Leyland Truck. The flat-top crane 71 EC-B 5 to be displayed at Excon’09 is a construction crane that is predestined for the Indian market. One important aspect of the newly built EC-B Flat-Top crane is that they are specially designed for quick assembly with an easy-to-use “connect and work” assembly system which Liebherr provides for all flat-top cranes. The central unit of the EC-B series is a newly developed compact head in which the slewing gear, the complete slewing ring support, the switchgear cabinet containing, all switching equipment, and the crane cabin are all integrated.
Liebherr furthermore will show an L514 type wheel loader. These machines are known for their easy maneuverability, compact design and smooth travel characteristics as well as centre-pivot and rear wheel steering and oscillating frame articulation and oscillating rear axle.
Powerscreen will launch its first wheeled plant for the Indian market at Excon that has jointly been developed by their product development engineers in India and the UK. The company will also display its leading Pegson XA 400S jaw crusher, for which Powerscreen claims 33% fuel efficient in comparison to their competitor’s machines and Chieftain 1700 screener on their outdoor booth.
Manitowoc is appearing with TIL at Excon. The two companies will occupy 754sq. m. TIL is the dealer for Grove and Manitowoc cranes in India and also builds Grove rough-terrain cranes for the Indian market under license.
On the stand, there will be a Potain MCi 85A. This 5t capacity top-slewing tower crane has a 50 m jib and can lift 1.3 t at jib end. Maximum height under hook is 35.7 m and it is mounted on a 1.2 m x 1.2 m mast. The MCi 85A is specifically designed for fast and easy erection and dismantling. It is competitively priced and can be erected and operational only in one day. The crane has fewer pieces to its assembly with design features that allow the hoist rope winding to be done at ground level while only one tie-bar is required for the front jib. It is also economical to transport due to a reduced number of crane sections and limited weight.
A Grove RT880E would also be on display by TIL. The crane has a 75t maximum capacity and a main boom of 39m. Jibs of 10m to 29.2m are available and maximum tip height is 71 m.
Escorts Construction Equipment Limited (ECEL), the Construction Equipment and Material Handling Equipment manufacturing arm of Escorts, has expanded its product portfolio and launching a number of new equipment at Excon. Among many products on display the main attraction would be the TRX 2319 Pick-n-Carry Crane, the Next Generation, High Reach High Lift Cranes apart from having all the features of the existing cranes. These equipment come with added features like unrestricted visibility, fast operations, maneuverability, longer distance runs, high lift duties, etc. for higher productivity and versatility.
Also on display would be Escorts- Heli – Model 3000 D, a diesel operated 3T lifting capacity Forklift Truck with Simpsons Engine.
Gujarat Apollo has an outdoor booth at Excon and their main attraction would be self–propelled mobile crusher which is 100tph machine with most advance features, is fuel efficient and gives good ROI. Apollo is also launching its Vibratory Compactor of 10t class.
On the other side, center attraction on the Puzzolana’s large outside display would be its latest PW5T and PW3T wheel loaders. The machine has simple hydraulic gear pumps for less maintenance, power assisted gear shift for less cycle time and equipped with Cummins engine. Besides these wheel loaders, Puzzolana will display its wide range of Cone and Jaw Crushers and allied products.
Sany will showcase its wide range of equipment with those products which have not been marketed in India so far, includes asphalt and concrete batching plants, next generation concrete pumps, motor graders, cranes, and so on.
At Excon, Putzmeister will showcase its existing range of stationary and boom concrete pumps and would also launch stationary pump BSA 1404HD for RMC pumping contractors and infrastructure companies. It can pump concrete upto 39cum/hr with 105 bar concrete pressure, is equipped with S-valve technology and highly wear resistant steel component are used for long life. Putzmeister is also introducing bigger booms pump Model – BSF 42.09H which has 41.6m vertical and 37.6m horizontal reach with 137cum/hr concrete output. The pump has 5 arms for better reach and maneuverability in narrow areas, Free flow Hydraulics for better performance and low hydraulic oil consumption and Cross outriggers for better stability with lesser ground space.
CDE Asia will promote its Sand and Aggregate washing system at Excon on its outside booth. The washing system which is compact and needs less fresh water can readily be integrated with the exiting 3 stages crushing circuits and is designed to produce zone wise products – fine and coarse sand.
Jaypee will showcase its range of rebar processing equipment such as bar bending machine, cutting machines, de-coiling, and stirrup-making machine at Excon. These products are heavily used in all forms of construction for processing reinforcement steel bars. They will also showcase some new products developed by them.
MANN+HUMMEL will display its latest product at Excon'09. Its new ENTARON XD – a new generation of air cleaners will be the star attraction at its booth. ENTARON XD, is the new air cleaner series for construction machines, agricultural machines, and compressors. The product range covers nominal flow rates from 2 to 60 cubic metres per minute. The series stands for high performance for the most important parameters for air cleaners such as installation space, separation efficiency, service life, flexibility, serviceability, and economy.
Nawa Engineers on the other side along with its other products will display its 55-inch ‘SRM’ series Durable NAWACONE and 7’x20’ ‘Tripleks’ series Three-Deck Screen with triple vibratory mechanism at Excon.

Pandey, General Manager and Head Marketing, ABG Cranes Limited says, in the field of heavy lift and bulk handling machines, ABG is one of the largest fleet owners in terms of numbers and lifting capacity. For the past three years, ABG Cranes has been leading in the field of marketing of high capacity mobile cranes and has supplied over 300 heavy capacity crawler, truck mounted and tower cranes to major infrastructure companies in India. Highlighting their manufacturing plant and new product innovation, Mr. Pandey elaborated that during the year 2006-07, in a major strategic move ABG laid the foundations to its manufacturing unit. The plant is situated in a sprawling 30 acres of land off the Mumbai–Pune national highway. A team of design engineers have been working on creating India’s first indigenous hydraulic crawler crane. As a result, ABG Cranes has successfully designed and produced first indigenous hydraulic crawler crane of 80T lifting capacity. Today, the company is manufacturing Hydraulic Crawler cranes of capacity 80T and production plans also include the manufacture of 160 and 250 metric tons crawler cranes. Currently, the manufacturing unit has capacity to manufacture 30 Crawler Cranes a year and with multifold expansion capacity.
Explaining their company’s expansion plan Mr. Pandey says, the heavy lift crane market is getting more competitive day-by-day. We would like to bring in high quality product at competitive prices with excellent after sales service to differentiate ourselves from the other players. We are expecting to expand our range to 250T in next 2 years and position ourselves as the single largest manufacturer of crawler cranes in India. In addition, we will start manufacturing products like RTG & tower cranes very shortly.
On their plan at Excon, he says, we have plans to display our first manufactured indigenous hydraulic crawler crane at the show and a video presentation on load tests of the first indigenous hydraulic crawler crane 1080. We are looking at Excon-2009 as an excellent platform for announcing and showcasing our capability as a high capacity mobile crane manufacturer.
The equipment industry for the last few years has seen a perceptible shift – both qualitatively and quantitatively. The huge investment and spending in infrastructure and construction activity coupled with upscaling of projects, shrinking timelines to complete these projects have resulted in need of most robust equipment with very high demand on uptime and capabilities. ARROW 770 Kerbmaker can extrude in excess of 500 lin. Mts of kerbing per day at a competitive capital cost and with a small crew of semi-skilled labor. All formwork is eliminated and no running rails are required. Handles tight curves down to 15 ft. (4.6m) radius and as close as 4 inches ( 100 mm) to obstacles.
ARROW 750-XL at present is the most preferred Slipform machine in India. It is a low profile machine and can be fed directly by a truck mixer. Conveyors or augers are not necessary. It has quick fit moulds which change in 30 minutes maximum.
According to Mr. Tim Andrews, it is clear that the Government of India is putting major emphasis to develop infrastructure in the country. We understand that the Ministry of Surface Transport, Government of India is targeting to make 20 km of road per day over the next five years period as compared to about 5 km / day achieved in the past or a 400% increase. One of the important highlights from Volvo this year will be the showcasing of SDLG for the first time in any Indian Expo. The LG938, a 10-ton wheel loader was launched last November and has got good response from the Indian market. At this Excon, we are going to launch the LG958, 15-ton Wheel Loader. A model of the SFINX (the concept Volvo excavator) will also be on display at Excon'09.

The S-valve technology prevents frequent breakdowns, thus ensuring uninterrupted flow of work, unlike pumps using any other technology,” highlighted Mr Schmid-Lindenmayer.
Putzmeister BSF42 is equipped with big mouth S-valve 2318 for harsh concrete. The Pump is also equipped with Free Flow Hydraulics for better performance and low hydraulic oil consumption, Cross Outriggers for better stability with lesser ground space, highly wear resistant steel components etc. similar to those used in its hugely successful 36m Boom Pump. The 42m Boom Pump also has 5 arms for better reach and manoeuvrability even in areas with space and operating restrictions.
Putzmeister’s state-of-the-art Indian manufacturing facility is located at Goa. The plant is spread over 100,000 sq.m. in the Verna Industrial Estate. The utility of sand & aggregate washing in the modern construction industry
Much of the sand currently used in the construction industry within India is sourced from rivers but this trend is starting to decline for a number of reasons. Key on the list of negatives is the potential environmental impact of river dredging and many states have already banned the exploitation of river sand, forcing producers to seek alternatives. Environmental legislation is not the only driving force, as the constant drive to achieve World class quality within the construction sector has also had an impact on the types of materials producers are prepared to use.
As a natural substance, sand is highly variable in grade and quality depending upon the source location, method of extraction, and even the season. What concrete producers in particular strive for is consistency. This is why virtually all construction sand in highly developed markets including Europe is washed – to achieve consistency and to ensure full compliance with construction sand specifications which limit the percentages which should be represented across the size ranges. Of particular concern to quality concrete producers and building sand buyers is the percentage of undersize within the sand; most notably the fraction below 75µm which should be below 4-5%.
Production of dual sands suitable for both concrete and plastering work
Washing sand in an efficient system is the recognised way to control fluctuations in the feed grade and also ensures consistent adherence to material norms. Various technologies exist ranging from screw classifiers through to modern hydrocyclone based systems such as those offered by CDE, a leading UK manufacturer now based in India. Selection of the correct system is essential to ensure optimal efficiency, particularly in achieving the correct balance of waste removal versus fine particles retention. Now the Big Sonic-Ski® is combining three Sonic-Ski® sensors over a length of 13 meters (as shown in the above figure). Thus makes it possible to average irregularities over long distances, for example road waves.
With the Big Sonic-Ski® non-contact averaging system the paver produces the smoothest road surface and improves mat quality even when the reference is less than perfect. A string line is not required. This is very useful while resurfacing existing roads with ongoing traffic for example.

The Power Dredger can be used in excavators, backhoe loaders, or in agriculture tractors. The extra function should suitably be protected against peek pressures. This can be achieved by using front driven overpressure valve, adjusted to approximately 20 bar lower than the main overpressure valve. If the Power Dredging unit is going to be used on a backhoe loader, the same principles apply as if it would be used on an excavator. The hydraulic system of the backhoe loader that is going to be used should be suitable to provide the hydraulics necessary, mentioned in the technical specifications. When the Power Dredging unit is going to be used on a agriculture tractor, the story is a little bit different. When used on an agriculture tractor one will need a power pack which can supply the hydraulics mentioned in the technical specifications.

Around 400 companies from world over will showcase their latest and existing offerings at the show. This year Excon will have pavilions from four countries including China, Italy, Germany, and the U.K besides many other manufacturing companies from across the globe.
To make the Excon’09-trip a wonderful experience for the participants, the organizers have changed the entire exhibition exercise and have introduced amazing helicopter landing facilities with arrangement of viewing the show both from air and ground which is first of its kind in India.
From this year onwards, free shuttle services from Airport, Railway Station, and few main city points to exhibition ground will be available for the visitors and exhibitors.
According to Mr. Vipin Sondhi, Chairman, Excon, the main focus of Excon’09 is to build modern India which can successfully be achieved by making available right kind of construction equipment and world best building technology. Excon is the right platform for new launches and the newest addition in technology. Seminars/discussion on the sidelines of the show will update understanding and awareness about the construction and associated industries to the attendees.
This year, we are expecting over 30,000 visitors and doing everything possible to make this trip a wonderful, memorable and long-lasting experience for every participant, added Mr. Sondhi.
The Show will witness equipment Demos, display and launch of several new products and services. Some highlights are summarized here.
Liebherr will display truck mixer, tower crane and wheel loader at Excon this year. Model HTM 604 truck mixer is mounted at Ashok Leyland Truck. The flat-top crane 71 EC-B 5 to be displayed at Excon’09 is a construction crane that is predestined for the Indian market. One important aspect of the newly built EC-B Flat-Top crane is that they are specially designed for quick assembly with an easy-to-use “connect and work” assembly system which Liebherr provides for all flat-top cranes. The central unit of the EC-B series is a newly developed compact head in which the slewing gear, the complete slewing ring support, the switchgear cabinet containing, all switching equipment, and the crane cabin are all integrated.
Liebherr furthermore will show an L514 type wheel loader. These machines are known for their easy maneuverability, compact design and smooth travel characteristics as well as centre-pivot and rear wheel steering and oscillating frame articulation and oscillating rear axle.
Powerscreen will launch its first wheeled plant for the Indian market at Excon that has jointly been developed by their product development engineers in India and the UK. The company will also display its leading Pegson XA 400S jaw crusher, for which Powerscreen claims 33% fuel efficient in comparison to their competitor’s machines and Chieftain 1700 screener on their outdoor booth.
Manitowoc is appearing with TIL at Excon. The two companies will occupy 754sq. m. TIL is the dealer for Grove and Manitowoc cranes in India and also builds Grove rough-terrain cranes for the Indian market under license.
On the stand, there will be a Potain MCi 85A. This 5t capacity top-slewing tower crane has a 50 m jib and can lift 1.3 t at jib end. Maximum height under hook is 35.7 m and it is mounted on a 1.2 m x 1.2 m mast. The MCi 85A is specifically designed for fast and easy erection and dismantling. It is competitively priced and can be erected and operational only in one day. The crane has fewer pieces to its assembly with design features that allow the hoist rope winding to be done at ground level while only one tie-bar is required for the front jib. It is also economical to transport due to a reduced number of crane sections and limited weight.
A Grove RT880E would also be on display by TIL. The crane has a 75t maximum capacity and a main boom of 39m. Jibs of 10m to 29.2m are available and maximum tip height is 71 m.
Escorts Construction Equipment Limited (ECEL), the Construction Equipment and Material Handling Equipment manufacturing arm of Escorts, has expanded its product portfolio and launching a number of new equipment at Excon. Among many products on display the main attraction would be the TRX 2319 Pick-n-Carry Crane, the Next Generation, High Reach High Lift Cranes apart from having all the features of the existing cranes. These equipment come with added features like unrestricted visibility, fast operations, maneuverability, longer distance runs, high lift duties, etc. for higher productivity and versatility.
Also on display would be Escorts- Heli – Model 3000 D, a diesel operated 3T lifting capacity Forklift Truck with Simpsons Engine.
Gujarat Apollo has an outdoor booth at Excon and their main attraction would be self–propelled mobile crusher which is 100tph machine with most advance features, is fuel efficient and gives good ROI. Apollo is also launching its Vibratory Compactor of 10t class.
On the other side, center attraction on the Puzzolana’s large outside display would be its latest PW5T and PW3T wheel loaders. The machine has simple hydraulic gear pumps for less maintenance, power assisted gear shift for less cycle time and equipped with Cummins engine. Besides these wheel loaders, Puzzolana will display its wide range of Cone and Jaw Crushers and allied products.
Sany will showcase its wide range of equipment with those products which have not been marketed in India so far, includes asphalt and concrete batching plants, next generation concrete pumps, motor graders, cranes, and so on.
At Excon, Putzmeister will showcase its existing range of stationary and boom concrete pumps and would also launch stationary pump BSA 1404HD for RMC pumping contractors and infrastructure companies. It can pump concrete upto 39cum/hr with 105 bar concrete pressure, is equipped with S-valve technology and highly wear resistant steel component are used for long life. Putzmeister is also introducing bigger booms pump Model – BSF 42.09H which has 41.6m vertical and 37.6m horizontal reach with 137cum/hr concrete output. The pump has 5 arms for better reach and maneuverability in narrow areas, Free flow Hydraulics for better performance and low hydraulic oil consumption and Cross outriggers for better stability with lesser ground space.
CDE Asia will promote its Sand and Aggregate washing system at Excon on its outside booth. The washing system which is compact and needs less fresh water can readily be integrated with the exiting 3 stages crushing circuits and is designed to produce zone wise products – fine and coarse sand.
Jaypee will showcase its range of rebar processing equipment such as bar bending machine, cutting machines, de-coiling, and stirrup-making machine at Excon. These products are heavily used in all forms of construction for processing reinforcement steel bars. They will also showcase some new products developed by them.
MANN+HUMMEL will display its latest product at Excon'09. Its new ENTARON XD – a new generation of air cleaners will be the star attraction at its booth. ENTARON XD, is the new air cleaner series for construction machines, agricultural machines, and compressors. The product range covers nominal flow rates from 2 to 60 cubic metres per minute. The series stands for high performance for the most important parameters for air cleaners such as installation space, separation efficiency, service life, flexibility, serviceability, and economy.
Nawa Engineers on the other side along with its other products will display its 55-inch ‘SRM’ series Durable NAWACONE and 7’x20’ ‘Tripleks’ series Three-Deck Screen with triple vibratory mechanism at Excon.

ABG Cranes
Focusing on their products Mr. R.B. Pandey, General Manager and Head Marketing, ABG Cranes Limited says, in the field of heavy lift and bulk handling machines, ABG is one of the largest fleet owners in terms of numbers and lifting capacity. For the past three years, ABG Cranes has been leading in the field of marketing of high capacity mobile cranes and has supplied over 300 heavy capacity crawler, truck mounted and tower cranes to major infrastructure companies in India. Explaining their company’s expansion plan Mr. Pandey says, the heavy lift crane market is getting more competitive day-by-day. We would like to bring in high quality product at competitive prices with excellent after sales service to differentiate ourselves from the other players. We are expecting to expand our range to 250T in next 2 years and position ourselves as the single largest manufacturer of crawler cranes in India. In addition, we will start manufacturing products like RTG & tower cranes very shortly.
On their plan at Excon, he says, we have plans to display our first manufactured indigenous hydraulic crawler crane at the show and a video presentation on load tests of the first indigenous hydraulic crawler crane 1080. We are looking at Excon-2009 as an excellent platform for announcing and showcasing our capability as a high capacity mobile crane manufacturer.
ECEL
According to Mr. Sharma the highlights at the show would be:
- Hydraulic Mobile Cranes Portfolio a. Pick-n-Carry Cranes product portfolio
- i. TRX 2319 – The next generation of Pick-n-Carry Crane with higher reach and higher lift capacities.
- TRX 2319 with Pick–n-Carry capacity of 23T is the largest Pick-n-Carry Crane available in the market place. These cranes come with added features like unrestricted visibility, faster operations, maneuverability, high lift duties for higher productivity and versatility, long distance travel worthy and higher winch capacities.
- ii. F-15 with outriggers & drag winch: This 14T Crane from ECEL’s TRX range is meant for project erection & maintenance due to its higher reach and boom height. This crane is an ideal replacement of slew cranes due to its better free on wheels/Pick-n-Carry duties as compared to slew cranes. Option of 4 wheel/2 wheel drive is a long distance travel worthy.
- iii. HYDRA-14 A 14 T model of ECEL, is the largest selling model in the Hydra series of Cranes. This machine comes with features like four part boom to attain a height of 48 ft, 6 fall winch of 12T capacity, slotted boom and rope compensation.

Coinciding with Excon'09 opening in Bangalore on November 25, 2009 Hess India has announced the opening of its facility in Bangalore on November 23 2009.As part of the expansion, Hess is opening new facilities in Mexico and in India.
The main production lines are in concrete block machines (mobile and stationary), handling systems, batching and mixing plants, concrete pipe machines, concrete roof tile machines, step machines, autoclaved aerated block machines and special machines for tumbling, splitting, shot blasting, grinding and washing.
The smallest Hess machine can do 6000 blocks (20cm/8") in 8 hours and then 10000, 15000, 23000, 25000 and 30000 blocks. Also have a mobile machine capable to produce 1000 blocks per hour. All the stationary machines are able to produce hollow, solid, hourdi, kerbs, flag tiles and all kinds of interlocking pavers. The advantage with Hess machines are less land area, less employees, more output, good quality and flexibility of production. These technical attributes of Hess products will be showcased at Excon.
Arrow Machinery
In India, alone, over 100 machines are in operation for the last 15 years with leading companies in Highway Construction Sector, such as Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Hindustan Construction Co. Arrow manufactures a range of machines and in India their two types of Kerb Making Machines are found which will also be displayed at their booth at Excon. They are ARROW 770 Kerbmaker (Extruder Type) and ARROW 750- XL (Slip Former).
ARROW 770 Kerbmaker can extrude in excess of 500 lin. Mts of kerbing per day at a competitive capital cost and with a small crew of semi-skilled labor. All formwork is eliminated and no running rails are required. Handles tight curves down to 15 ft. (4.6m) radius and as close as 4 inches ( 100 mm) to obstacles.
ARROW 750-XL at present is the most preferred Slipform machine in India. It is a low profile machine and can be fed directly by a truck mixer. Conveyors or augers are not necessary. It has quick fit moulds which change in 30 minutes maximum.

In the current year, we are expecting a growth of around 10%, but we feel that year 2010 onwards, we would be in a position to again look at growth rates in excess of 30% annually.
Commenting on Excon, he says we feel that the timing of the event is coinciding with the revival of construction equipment market in India and the construction equipment industry in India should be back on track around November/December this year. Putzmeister
Keeping up the tradition, Putzmeister has now launched a 42m Boom Pump (BSF42) on an Indian truck – the second in a row. Last month, it introduced the upgraded version of its stationary pump model BSA 1404HD for RMC contractors and Infrastructure companies. This month, it has introduced its 42m Boom Pump.
This is another feather in Putzmeister’s cap. Two years before, the company launched its 36m Boom in India on a 3-axle homologated truck, as per the weight norms of Indian road regulations. It was a big success in the industry, and has helped Putzmeister to corner more than half of the total Boom Pump market share.
At Excon'09, the company would unveil the much awaited 42m Boom Pump, informed Putzmeister’s Managing Director, Mr. Schmid-Lindenmaye. The BSF42 has a maximum vertical reach of 41.6m (136ft) and horizontal reach of 37.6m (123ft). It is also equipped with a 137 cum/hr core pump and is mounted on a homologated chassis which is allowed to run on Indian roads.

We strongly believe that India will benefit from our extremely reliable concrete pumps that ensure increased precision and productivity in the on-site application of concrete. Putzmeister BSF42 is equipped with big mouth S-valve 2318 for harsh concrete. The Pump is also equipped with Free Flow Hydraulics for better performance and low hydraulic oil consumption, Cross Outriggers for better stability with lesser ground space, highly wear resistant steel components etc. similar to those used in its hugely successful 36m Boom Pump. The 42m Boom Pump also has 5 arms for better reach and manoeuvrability even in areas with space and operating restrictions.
Growing presence
The Indian arm of Putzmeister is also exporting machinery to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and South East Asia.
Besides India, Putzmeister also has production facilities in Germany, US, China, Turkey, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, UK, South Africa, and South Korea.

Much of the sand currently used in the construction industry within India is sourced from rivers but this trend is starting to decline for a number of reasons. Key on the list of negatives is the potential environmental impact of river dredging and many states have already banned the exploitation of river sand, forcing producers to seek alternatives. Environmental legislation is not the only driving force, as the constant drive to achieve World class quality within the construction sector has also had an impact on the types of materials producers are prepared to use.
As a natural substance, sand is highly variable in grade and quality depending upon the source location, method of extraction, and even the season. What concrete producers in particular strive for is consistency. This is why virtually all construction sand in highly developed markets including Europe is washed – to achieve consistency and to ensure full compliance with construction sand specifications which limit the percentages which should be represented across the size ranges. Of particular concern to quality concrete producers and building sand buyers is the percentage of undersize within the sand; most notably the fraction below 75µm which should be below 4-5%.
Washing sand in an efficient system is the recognised way to control fluctuations in the feed grade and also ensures consistent adherence to material norms. Various technologies exist ranging from screw classifiers through to modern hydrocyclone based systems such as those offered by CDE, a leading UK manufacturer now based in India. Selection of the correct system is essential to ensure optimal efficiency, particularly in achieving the correct balance of waste removal versus fine particles retention. To this end, CDE offers a highly customised approach and are able to cater to a diverse range of capacities and processing requirements. Thus makes it possible to average irregularities over long distances, for example road waves.
With the Big Sonic-Ski® non-contact averaging system the paver produces the smoothest road surface and improves mat quality even when the reference is less than perfect. A string line is not required. This is very useful while resurfacing existing roads with ongoing traffic for example.

Island Dredging and Equipment Pvt. Ltd.
With the Power Dredging unit one can clear deep waterholes and spread the mud directly in the area, or pump it into a tank wagon. It’s also possible to connect a pipe so that the mud can be pumped for several miles to a storage or dump. This can pump upto 60% dry material with a capacity of 800 m3 an hour, he added.
The equipment is easy to connect on any excavator with a quickcoupler in less than 15 minutes. This dredge can pump from 25m deep and pumps up to 25m high. This dredge pump can be very useful in case of earthslides, floods, or other disasters where there is a need for a powerful pump that can easily be deployed. Perfect for maintenance in shoreline areas, swamps and wetlands. Due to its very strong cutting edge, it cuts small branches, water vegetation, and other floating materials.
The Power Dredger can be used in excavators, backhoe loaders, or in agriculture tractors. If the Power Dredging unit is pressed for use on an excavator, there is an extra function required on the excavator, as well as an empty return pressure leakage pipe. The extra function should suitably be protected against peek pressures. This can be achieved by using front driven overpressure valve, adjusted to approximately 20 bar lower than the main overpressure valve. If the Power Dredging unit is going to be used on a backhoe loader, the same principles apply as if it would be used on an excavator. The hydraulic system of the backhoe loader that is going to be used should be suitable to provide the hydraulics necessary, mentioned in the technical specifications. When the Power Dredging unit is going to be used on a agriculture tractor, the story is a little bit different. When used on an agriculture tractor one will need a power pack which can supply the hydraulics mentioned in the technical specifications.
