Leading sand washing equipment manufacturer, CDE, organized a customers’ meet coinciding with Excon 2017, wherein the company highlighted the importance of manufactured sands, and disseminated information on the solutions offered by CDE for producing it. The meet concluded with an award function for CDE’s customers. Event was hosted by Mr. Dominic McAllister, British Deputy High Commissioner, Bengaluru.
Addressing the large gathering, Mr. Manish Bhartia, Managing Director, CDE Asia, said, “There is a growing demand for sand due to the heightened activity in infrastructure construction, primarily in concrete road construction. So, there is a likelihood that availability of natural sand will further diminish. In such a scenario, Manufactured sand will be in greater demand, which will make its production indispensable.”
For any big-size and time-bound project, it becomes difficult to procure huge volumes of sand from traditional river sand sources due to the government’s restriction on extraction. Plus, there are perennial issues of inconsistent supply of river sand, especially during the monsoon season, which delays construction. Washed or M-sand has the desired particle shape, gradation, silt content, and an absence of deleterious materials, because it is manufactured by processing rocks, by using crushing and washing techniques. “Producers can offer a consistent supply from the production facility to the jobsite, and thereby, remove the supply gap and meet the desired specifications. Most importantly, M-sand will reduce consumption of cement in projects by 5-10 percent,” he said.
Mr. Bhartia informed that while sand can be produced from rock processing, M-sand can also be produced from construction demolition sites, excavation waste, and from dredged sand from ponds and seas. “With CDE’s advanced technology, excessive chloride can be washed. In our advanced Combo mobile wash plants (that have a capacity of 30 to 300 tons of materials per hour), we have integrated our ground-breaking sand washing technology, which is a first in the global washing industry to combine feeding, grading, washing, water recycling, sludge management, and stock piling onto a single, compact chassis.”
The Sludge Management technology used in the Combo accelerates the drying time of the tailings, and allows the recycled water to be returned to the Combo’s washing plant more quickly than any other system. And the unique Hydro Cyclone technology rejects excessive fines with no loss of sand in overflow. Combo’s impressive capacity range in the Combo Alpha, Combo X 150, Combo X30, and Combo X 70 models, suits the most material washing applications.
CDE Asia has a presence in 30 cities across India, with an active population of more than 200 plants. Its service engineers provide training to operators to work on programmable logic control to produce the required variant of sand. The company is providing sand solutions to major construction companies such as Afcons, Dilip Buildcon, Oriental Engineers, GR Infra etc.
