CCMA holds BICES 2021 press conference in Bengaluru

The press conference organised by China Construction Machinery Organization (CCMA) was a prelude to the BICES 2021 global construction industry and equipment event to be held in Beijing. The conference was chaired by Zhou Weidong, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Machinery Industry, Qi Jun, Chairman of CCMA, and Li Kaien, MD of the Asia region of the American Equipment Manufacturers Association (AEM). Also present were Fred Vieira, Director of Global Exhibition Activities of American Equipment Manufacturers Association, NBM Media, and some exhibitors.

Qi Jun, in his keynote speech gave an "Analysis and Trend of the Development of China's Construction Machinery Industry in 2019" during which he pointed out that the Chinese market is the world's largest construction machinery market with a total operating income of 596.4 billion yuan - an increase of 10.4 compared with 2017. The number of domestic construction machinery products was about 8 million units, a y-o-y increase of 5.64% as of 2018-end. Among the top 50 global Construction Equipment manufacturers in 2019, were 12 Chinese companies, and two of the top ten were Xugong Group and the Sany Group, which, along with Liugong, were showcasing a line-up of products at Excon.

In 2018, China's total exports of construction equipment and spare parts reached 23.7 billion U.S. dollars, while the export value from January to October 2019 reached 20.3 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of about 5% over the same period in 2018. At the same time, imports have also maintained a stable level. Based on this, the Association predicts that the sales revenue of the Chinese equipment market will maintain a growth of about 10% in 2020.

BICES 2019 held in Beijing was established as a global platform for showcasing construction machinery and spare parts of global companies, and for networking with users from across the world. Qi Jun invited global manufacturers and users to showcase their latest and most advanced products and technology at BICES 2021 through which they would be able to actively participate in China's infrastructure development. “The present management policy is good for updating old equipment. Central and local governments introduced policies on construction machinery products pollution prevention and control one after another. The demand of present construction machinery market will keep steady increase. Updating demand will be the main role of the market,” he quoted from the CCMA analysis.

Li Kaien, MD of AEM, informed the gathering that BICES has been supported by AEM in Munich, Paris, Russia etc. At the upcoming CONEXPO exhibition in the US in March 2020, AEM will promote BICES 2021.
