The construction involves civil work components such as primary and secondary clarifiers, thickeners, aeration tanks, inlet chambers and digester, all of which necessitate an estimated 18,000 cum of concrete in one year. A huge bulk of the required concrete is being supplied by BHAI PUMPCRETE - a CP 30 TS TML, 30 cum/hr compact concrete batching plant with a twin shaft mixer. The plant has been deployed by R. R construction, the sub-contractor for the project.

Compact 30 m3/ hr twin shaft mixer concrete batching plant
The sub-contractor was selected by L&T based on its past credential as a reliable supplier of ready mix concrete to contractor Shapoorji Pallonji in Amritsar, and for the company’s skilled manpower to safely run the concrete plant.

He adds, “For delivering the varied grades of concrete for the project, the batching plant can easily mix and churn out M-15, 20, 25, 30 cum grades of concrete with accuracy due to the programme logic control software system in the plant.” At present, the contractor is deriving 50-100 cum/day output from the plant.
The twin shaft mixer installed in the plant was manufactured by BHAI PUMPCRETE under technical collaboration with KYC Machine Industry Co. Ltd. of Japan, at its Ludhiana facility. According to Mr. Bhai Manpreet Singh, Managing Director of BHAI PUMPCRETE, the KYC twin shaft mixer has numerous features such as whirl flow technology, low pinching blades, leading compulsory mixer, and ability to mix large aggregates without segregation and low slump. These factors ensure homogenous mix, rated productivity, plant availability, and very little maintenance.

The CP 30 TS TML installed at the wastewater treatment facility has a 0.5 cum mixer with 750/ 500 cum input and output capacity. The unit has four compartments and can handle maximum 63 mm size of aggregates. The weighing system of the plant is electronic/.
Mr. Neb adds, “We are bidding for concrete road projects in Punjab and are open to procure Bhai’s concrete plants for our future projects. We are satisfied with their present service and look forward for the same in our future projects.”
