Bombardier to deliver 424 cars to DMRC

Bombardier Transportation, will supply 424 Movia cars to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) before the commencement of Commonwealth Games later this year. Informing about the delivery schedule President and Managing Director, Rajeev Jyoti said the Company has already supplied 100 cars to the DMRC and plans to complete the order for the remaining coaches by September this year. Modern and hi-tech cars equipped with the CCTV cameras and special software installed in the cabin of the train driver will help DMRC keep a close watch on the movement of passengers. In addition, all the safety measures meeting Euro 4 norms have been installed in the coaches.
Bombardier Transportation has set up a state-of-the-art ultra modern rail coaches manufacturing facility involving an investment of over Rs. 200 crore at Savali area of the Vadodara district of Gujarat state. Currently, this facility is meeting the requirements of rail operators in India and other South Asian countries. Company is drawing encouraging response for the product as it is considered the most preferred motor by leading rail operators across the world. Indian facility is not only manufacturing metro trains but also Electrical Multiple Units(EMUs). Company’s latest product, Zefiro, can reach maximum speed of 260 to 360 kms per hour.
