Gemini Equipment bats for construction sector

In the run up to the current budget, the Managing Director, Gemini Equipment and Rentals Private Limited, Rajiv Sethi, in his pre-budget presentations has demanded a larger budgetary allocation to bring about sustained development in the construction and infrastructure sectors.

Driving home his view point he said that India is a major market for infrastructure development and the construction industry is all set to achieve its true potential offering huge opportunity for the various players. He called upon the government to revive and complete projects that have been put on the backburner due to the financial crisis.

He said adding that the small players that offer support services to the construction equipment industry urgently need finance at easier rates to invest to new equipment facilities.  The rupee should be taken into account while fixing taxes as that can drive down the internal rates of return (IRR) for construction and infrastructure projects, he added.
