RInfra commissions Rs. 600cr road project in TN
Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra) in a media statement confirmed that the company has commissioned the four laning of 90km stretch stretching from Trichy to Dindigul in Tamil Nadu on build operate and transfer model involving an investment of Rs. 600cr. The national highways project on which the company has already started collecting toll has a concession period of 30 years during which the company will also maintain the road stretch in question, explained the statement quoting its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Lalit Jalan.

While completing the project, it has built 15 bridges on the stretch and an automatic tolling facility has been introduced ensuring advance toll management services including CCTVs, speed detectors and other services to monitor traffic flow on the road. In addition to this, the company will also provide medical aid vehicles rescue post and patrolling services stationed at the toll plazas, besides restrooms along the corridor. The company has about 11 roads portfolio at Rs. 12,000cr and 10 of its projects are operational and expected to generate over Rs. 1,000cr and is expecting about 10 to 12 percent growth in traffic year on year basis in its road assets. The infrastructure major largely select projects in high density traffic corridors ensuring a return of about 20 percent on its investment.
